Where Little Paws Feel At Home

Dog Boarding and Day Care in Bristol for toy & small breeds up to 10kg

Welcome to Jackson Tiny Tails!

Hello and welcome, I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Jo, and I offer a calm, loving home-from-home day care and boarding service based in Bristol, exclusively for toy and small breeds up to 10kg. But this is more than just a business to me, it’s something deeply personal, shaped by the love I’ve shared with my dogs, Jack and Sonny, and the quiet companionship of my dad.

Personal Approach

Every dog I welcome is treated as I would treat my own. Their comfort, safety, and emotional wellbeing are always my priority, whether they’re staying just for the day or for a longer visit.

Calm home-from-Home Care

I know how hard it can be to leave your dog with someone new, whether it’s just for the day or for a longer stay. That’s why I offer both day care and overnight boarding, in a calm, loving environment that truly feels like home.

Small Numbers, Big Care

I’m fully licensed to care for up to five dogs. Most of the time I keep numbers to three or four so each guest receives the calm and individual attention they deserve.

Let’s Take It Slow

I work with each family to create a gradual, reassuring transition. For nervous dogs, I can offer short visits, two hours, then four, and build up slowly. Many owners tell me this personal, phased approach makes a real difference.

more Than just a place to stay

Dogs are welcome in all areas of my home, whether that’s joining me on the sofa or finding a cosy spot of their own. If they are used to sleeping on the bed at home, they are welcome to do the same here, helping them feel safe and settled.

  • I follow each dog’s usual routine so they feel comfortable
  • Cuddles and company are always available
  • Every guest is treated as part of the family

Why Choose Jackson Tiny Tails

This isn’t just a job to me, it’s a continuation of the love I still carry for Little Jack, Sonny, and my dad.

  • A peaceful, home-from-home setting
  • Small numbers and gentle routines
  • Each dog cared for with patience, love, and personal attention

FAQs

Yes, I’m fully licensed by the Bristol City Council (Licence Number AWLA/121320) for up to 5 dogs, but I choose to care for no more than 3 or 4 at a time. This way, I can give each dog the calm, individual attention they deserve, without things ever feeling busy or overwhelming.

I care for toy or small breed dogs up to 10kg as often small dogs prefer to enjoy the company of other small dogs.

I’ve been caring for dogs for many years, and since starting Jackson Tiny Tails, I’ve created a calm, loving home where every dog is treated like family. I only welcome a small number of little dogs at a time, so I can get to know each one and give them the attention, comfort, and gentle care they deserve.

Yes, please. Keeping your dog on their usual diet is important for their comfort and health. It helps avoid upset tummies during their stay. You can also bring their treats, favourite bowl, or anything else that makes them feel settled.

At the moment, I don’t offer transport, I’ve found it’s best for owners to drop off and collect their dogs themselves.

Absolutely. Whether you’re away for a weekend or a few weeks, your dog will be part of my home for the whole stay. For longer bookings, it’s especially important to do a couple of trial visits first, so they feel relaxed and happy from the start.

To meet licensing requirements, any dog staying for longer than three nights must complete an overnight trial first. Some owners also like to arrange shorter trial visits, such as a couple of hours or a half-day, to help their dog get used to me and my home, but this is completely optional.

Dogs sleep where they feel most comfortable, just as they do at home. Many choose to curl up on my bed, and I’m very happy for them to do so. Others prefer their own bed or a cosy spot elsewhere. The important thing is that they settle down to sleep feeling safe and secure.
